Does the EGR valve have a solid pipe that goes down to the exhaust manifold/header or is the pipe two pieces?

Sorry its a 1993 351. I had someone put headers on it. They told me it was broken but it looks like it was made this way. Two pices one fits into the other.

I guess it might have been made that way, but I've never seen one like that. Is it leaking anywhere? If so, replace it.

How can I tell if it is leaking? I thnk I am going to unscrew it from the valve itself and look at the pipe. The haynes manual doesn't really show anything. Thanks for your help

Crank the engine and use a 3' piece of garden hose as a stethoscope.

Hi David, it is supposed to be "one" piece with a threaded pipe in the middle. If it is two pieces. It is broken and needs to be replaced.
And it is expensive from Ford.

It's a single pipe with a flex section in the middle. I removed mine and it was broken too. I just removed it and plugged the ports.
