Tipping Point?

Before this thread goes political, (that isn't the purpose of this thread) what is our tipping point that would cause us to hunker in our bunker? Loss of money value? Martial law? Mass terrorist attacks? I have seen many things happening in other countries that are very scary if they happened here but I don't think they will on that scale. But I may be wrong, what are your thoughts?

Whatever the point is that you can't support yourself/family by working anymore. Whether that is due to inflated food costs, fuel costs, or if your chosen field simply has no more work available.

In Greece it was bailout money from the IMF and retirement age requirement. Now in Mexico, it is the recent election.

I think we are past the tipping point, but hope I am wrong. I think hunkering down may offer only limited safety. We have never been strong believers in gun ownership, but now have a 45 and a shotgun and our discretionary income is going to adding serious firepower.

At whatever point folks realize the American Dream is a fantasy and things are not going to be the way they used to be, I think there will be trouble.

The communist doctrine calling itself political correctness has infected the western world like a cancer. And there's no cutting it out. Whether its politics, business, science or the arts, those who don't comply with the Marxist principle of equality are persecuted. The laws of nature have been banished from these affairs. Those who know better will go along to get along. By the time enough people figure out what's going on it will be too late.

Third world freeloaders will continue to pour into America and Europe until our world is just as corrupt and dysfunctional as theirs. They will bring with them more crime, more disease, more ignorance and other problems that can only be remedied with more taxation, more gun control and other infringements of our individual freedoms for the sake of "equality".

Living out in the countryside with your bibles and your chickens won't save you either. Look at Waco. It will be like the Soviet Union all over again. Anyone with an education, a bit of land, a business or a title next to his name will be rounded up and shot. For now you are just a tax slave. A workhorse to be exploited. But in the long run, the ability to provide for your own family, to create wealth, to serve as an example in your community and possibly lead others makes you a threat. Only those fit to be slaves will be spared.

As the drones take to the skies here in the U.S. whom do you think they will be targeting? The folks in charge of the drones decide who the terrorists are!

A limited nuclear exchange brought on by terrorist attack, followed by crash of infrastructure/economy/food-water, and then a mass pandemic brought on by these conditions...........Goodbye 21st century, hello dark ages.

Possibly, extinction.

I think we have already reached the tipping point. The fallout is still to come.

The greatest worry I have is our local police forces are now armed with loads of military hardware courtesy Homeland Security. Even our local police force, and we are not a large city, has a small armored vehicle. Factor in drones, get labeled as a terrorist for defending what you have worked for your entire life, and it is pretty easy to see how things are going to fall out.

We will still have the same political system with the same politicians calling for "shared suffering". Anyone want to guess who gets to share the suffering and who doesn't?

Is it just me or do you feel the tension of uncertainty? (Maybe, I spend too much time on Facebook?) From what I gather, others are more unsure of their future than ever before. I have heard, "If I can just make it over this hump". Well, the hump keeps getting bigger.
Bigger government, more criminal aliens crossing the border from who knows where, to do who knows what. Higher taxes that may bankrupt the average Joe causing more home foreclosures and causing the elimination of the Middle Class.
I am hoping it isn't too late, but I want to get a heads up before society crumbles around us.

I don't think most folks are going to make it and those that do are going to have to earn it.

I know everyone talks about the need to vote. I wish someone would tell me what difference voting is really going to make. I don't think even if things could be shaken up politically there is very much that can be done. Things have simply gone too far. Back before the crash, when I heard that 1/3 of new owners never made a payment on their home in some areas, it was pretty simple to see what was coming down the line.

We made greed job one in the country and there has never been a free ride no matter what the folks in Washington say.

I stongly believe in the words of these very wise men;

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson

"Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts; not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."-- Abraham Lincoln

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o>I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
Thomas Jefferson</o>

<o></o>
<o>The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that... it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.
Thomas Jefferson
</o>

<o></o>
<o>Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
Thomas Jefferson
