I left the ipr open to clear oil from the system per the instruction I read. Heard the leak in the driver side vc . Want to fix this leak before going any further.
waiting until tomorrow for the owner to get back from vacation to get permission before buying any parts.
trqjnky i think you have to command the IPR closed to air test it . And when you do it can only be energized for a few seconds at a time . Don't know if your to the pump , but i went though the top of the pump then pulled the pump and the connected it to the discharge pipe . Also it took 3 to 5 min for the injector O rings to start leaking , i almost pulled the air to soon thinking i was good to go . JMO

well, with the valve cover off, after cranking trying to start, i can hear the leak as the oil emptys through the leak
well, new oil pipe and dummy plugs, injector upper o rings and nipple orings on the oil rail... AND IT STARTS!!!!
NOW, it cranks for like 4-5 seconds before it builds low oil pressure on the gauge, as soon as the gauge on the dash registers, it starts. it has an aftermarket filter on it. so i will change that tomorrow. but other than that, anything im looking for?
also, the oil pipe that was in the truck was a two peice. the one the dealer sold me is a 1 piece. same thing different design i take it?
also, i am going to sell the socket to replace the orings in the oil rail. if anyone wants it, email me at dnchevyman@gmail.com.
