I am STILL opting for the Mag Hy-tech for the temp probe port. AND if/when I have to change the fluid, the drain plug will put the fluid where I want it and the "O" ring seal is reusable - I can remove the cover and clean the inside. AND it holds 6 (six) quarts for extra cooling.
I asked my local Ford dealer this week if I could get this cover, since I was changing the rear diff oil. They told me it would not fit my year truck. I have seen enough on this forum the amount of folks running this 08 cover on their trucks to know they were not quite right. Maybe it's because of the bolts.
(I don't like my local dealer)
I just painted mine, and not worried about spending that extra money on a shinny new one!

Your dealer is full of caca and you're right about the bolts, which are a tweak longer because of the thicker cast aluminum cover.
From other threads, I understand the longer bolts are 12 bolts, stainless hex head 5/16 x 18 x 1 1/4 inch long. Anyone have FoMoCo part number? Otherwise it's off to NAPA. Thanks.
