Hi all,
First of all I want to say that this is a frickin huge forum!
Just a quick hola from North NV. HOLA!!!
In my blood I'm an old Buick GS guy from the early '80's & '90's, but I'm a Ford truck guy.
My current one is my 2001 F350 C.C. full Banks Turbo system in it. This has 320K (never been rebuilt) on the original 7.3 and still strong, just had compression & leak checks done. Mechanic says 340-350 throughout all the cylinders. I just might make 500K!
My other one is a '68 F100 w/ a 360 that runs beautifully. Been in the family for years. I'll post pics later.
I have a question on the blower motor in a 2001. My A/C and fan work OK but there are days when I wish the fan would have an "11" selector on it, i.e. overdrive. Are there such creatures? My wife's Chrysler has the fan from hell that'll blow your cheeks around if you put your face up to it. But it sure cools that car interior down really fast.
Do they make some aftermarket fan motor and if so where can I get one?
I have been wondering the same thing. I have an '02 and the first two settings are not as strong as I remember my last '01 being. I actually am wondering if replacing the resistors for the fan motor may be in order. I just would like to figure out a way to check the ones I have before I go get a new set.
DC motors get tired after a lot of use and NV is hot in the South and hot/cold in the North (I lived in Reno and Vegas). Maybe a new fan motor is in order. There's a lot of dust, you might try blowing out the HVAC system with an air hose.
