no pics nothing to really see its broke off inside the motor manchester ct is where I anm located if I have to pull the timing cover I dont even know where to begin
Try a left handed drill bit or easy out and see if you can get the broken bolt out. The bolt is stronger than the front cover that the threads are cut in, so you should be able to get it out. You might need to heli coil the hole if you mess the threads up.
If you do, don't drill the hole to deep. You're not drilling into the block, only the cover. If you go all the way through, you'll end up with a coolant leak.
If it broke off and is 2-3 inches in then it isn't one that goes into the front cover, it goes into the block and holds your front cover and water pump on. Your not going to break a bolt into the cover, it's only aluminum. Use a left hand drill bit or a very thin walled easy out. The good news is your front cover is fine, and you wont be risking any leaks, but the bad is that you may not be able to get if out without pulling it off.
well here is the update I could not drill out the broken stud and I can not pull the motor to get the cover off so I drilled the cover and put in a heli coil and bolted a 3/ths bolt to the cover no leaks yet I will change it when ever I have to pull the motor to change the oil pan, or any other reason thanks for all the help I tried all the suggestion to no avil
