Ok, this is probably a stupid question but is there supposed to be a bolt in the very bottom of my water pump? I took all the bolts out of the old pump and carefully put them back when doing the new pump, but there was one more hole than bolt. I checked the old pump and sure enough there was no bolt in that one. What makes me wonder if there should be one is that the hole is smaller than the other holes. It is threaded and I would assume there should be a bolt there because, well what's the point of having 5 bolts on the top for a good seal and then only 2 on the bottom and they are pretty much on the lower corners. Truck is 95 F350 w/ 5.8. I did search the forum but was unable to find anyone with this issue. Thanks guys!
yeah, mine has two of those.....with the head on the back of the water pump and threads facing towards the front-end. But this hole is on the very bottom of the pump and goes straight through the pump and that sheet metal backing.
Anyone know a place I can find the answer at? I'm hesitant to ask the local auto store people. I figure I'd find out the hard way they didn't really know but gave me an answer anyway.
