coolant system reassembly - please help

To make a long story short, after replacing my water pump (1997 F350 w/ 460); i have 1 extra bolt left over, and 1 bolt hole without a bolt. The bolt that is left over appears to be a grade 8 bolt that is roughly 5-6" long. The bolt hole missing a bolt is directly behind the alternator. I do not think this bolt is for the water pump. I checked two bolts on the left side of the pump, so i think i can rule out the long bolt for the pump. All of the bolts on the power steering pump side are in and correct as i kept these seperate when removing. Is there a diagram that shows lengths and locations of bolts?
Any help would be appreciated.

I havent ever seen such a chart. A bolt that length usually would go into a powersteering/airconditioning bracket through the front to the block. Some of those bolts are recessed into the bracket and you have to look hard to find its location.

sounds like you may have put one bolt in the hole it didnt come out of also. When I change a water pump I learned to put the bolts into the new pump siting on the floor as you remove them from the car and then switch them back into the old removed pump when its off and then you never forget which bolt went where,,,I learned the hard way
