Possibly.
As many objective analyses have proven, the root cause is clueless mechanics not using a torque wrench and over or undertorquing the plugs. And it seems even the factory had some issues. As with 99.9% of modern gasoline engines, these use aluminum heads. Aluminum will not stand up to mouth breathing gorillas cranking them down "gutentite" with a 1/2" breaker bar. Nor do they like plugs put in barely finger tight. 20 ft lbs is sweet spot.

So if one of the aforementioned mouth breathers worked on your truck, they may have damaged spark plug threads.
But the vast majority of trucks of that vintage are fine.

Come down to the V10 forum for more information.

The biggest problem with spark plug blowout was because the heads only had a few threads for the plugs. By 2002 they added more threads and pretty much eliminated the problem.

The extra thread length was supposibly added during the 2003 MY. However a member had an 03' that didn't have the longer threads which leads me to believe it is dependant on build date. The 03' trucks were built both in 2002 and 2003.

If you keep the spark plugs tight and fix any detonation issues you will most likely not have any problems. I believe the there are 3 main things that cause plugs to blow. Excessive detonation, plugs become loose and threads in head damaged.

According to the Oasis report, mine was built in Oct. '02 mine should have the extra threads based on Mark's reply.

I seem to remember that the extra threads were added in either '01 or '02.
