Hi all changed plugs in my 02 f 2504x4 v10 6 speed manuel i found helpfull tips here. I used a snap on spark plug socket no problems the passenger rear was real bear. It wasnt fun but not as bad as some wou ld have you belive glad I did not have to beat flat rate
I started with passenger rear I have found over the years starting with the hard part makes the job go easer. I torked to 18 ft pd w/antisize I have read the boots tear easly i gently twested &wiggled all boots saved truck has 109000 miles so they can be reused just be gentel when removeing boots
When I change plugs I have enough new boots on hand just in case--found mine at NAPA for $4.29 each, USA-made Belden products no less, p/n 702418. At 100K miles I'd have changed them all anyway since they don't last forever. That's just my way though...
With anti-seize 21-22 ft/lbs torque would be fine too, spec is 14 without anti-seize.
Pick ups are much easier than a van----first step is to remove front seats!
I had the cowl off my E450 yesterday (for a smog check)and they all look like they are just sittin there waiting for me - am I missing something? My impression was that this will be easier than a truck because access is so good to the rear plugs.

This is subjective---removing front seats makes the back 4 or 6 quite easy while the front two are still a bit of a reach from the front. Personally I remove the seats and the air cleaner housing to have the maximum room. Obviously this takes a bit more time over all but when doing this I'm in no hurry.
I'd think with a pick up you're reaching from the front or sides of the motor and for me there's not a comfortable position to work. At least with our vans we get to lay down!

Nickel-based anti-seize is optimal since it supposedly has the highest temp rating---you shouldn't have any real issue with the copper base though. I get mine here: http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-77124...tex+anti+seize For some reason most local parts outfits don't stock this formula and it does last quite a long while.
