spark plug blowouts???
I just bought an 01 F250 XLT crew cab and someone mentioned that there has been an issue where the spark plugs are prone to blowout and cause quite a bit of damage. Is this rumor or fact? If it does happen, is there a preventative fix?

Not a rumor but there has been more cases than with other makers in that regard. It is usually on the early 5.4L or V10 models. You need to verify by pulling the plugs and checking the threads. 4 thread heads are more prone to this but it is a result of improper torque and cross threading in a lot of cases. There are many posts and threads about it in the v8 forums and on here. Search it and you will come up with pages.
