I still think there were other issues that caused it to shoot out from the spring perch .. 1 U bolt would have had to stretch a great deal , or come loose (or was never tight ) . Then it would have had to completely fall away , in order for the block itself to get out from under the center bolt & over the pin .. Then it is still under the spring & the U bolt will still be in the way ...In the instance that one block got away , & the other did not. the axle would have to twist.. Both springs would be in the same configuration (wrapped ) It would have had to come out sideways unless the U bolt failed ..
I can tell you this . If I decided to put blocks on the front , they would stay there ...As far as wrap , that is a simple matter as well..
well, that incident with the lift block shooting out was also back in 81. things were a little less safe back then. the truck was a late 60's chevy 4X4 death trap.
454 engine, 4 speed trans, big tires, and questionable suspension parts.
during the investigation of the truck at the time of the accident, i impounded the truck because part of the steering was a tire iron welded to the links for a drop off the pitman arm.
by the time we got done with the investigation we sent the truck to a crusher to keep it off the road.

That was kind of my point ..
I don't work on stuff out in my yard under a tree like some of our 4x4 experts here do
I'll take my ranger over any piece of crap you claim to have built any day. Guess you haven't noticed that my shadetree built ranger makes sub 4 second passes in a 18-24" deep mud pit that's 200' long. Wanna line any and all of your junk up next to mine?
