so my personal business is slowly starting to pick up now that spring is here. im finally out of the house during the day and unfortunatly too tired to go out after work. the things i sacrifice for money...

anyways, i was thinking about a few of my close friends who are starting their own businesses also, and thinking about FTE and remembered PSD POWER was planning/hoping to start his own welding/ fabricating service...

just wondering- whats the latest word on your business PSD ?
any luck?

I was told years ago, never tell anyone business is slow. Think about it. If the banker, lease holder, suppliers hear third or fourth hand that you're not doing so great, they might alter the way they do business with you. Whether it's just a slow day or week, people tend to think the worst.
When someone asks how business is going, reply, "Unbelievable!" That pretty much covers everything.

Wow, I should read through all the threads. lol didnt even see this one till today.

Well I just bought a new project - see the thread below about the 62 ford galaxie

I also crashed my Yamaha banshee on spring break. fractured two ribs, broke my nose, sprained my ankle, and bruised all over. Watch out for drop offs when your full throttled across the sand dunes.

I havent really been moving to rapidly on getting much done, pain killers kinda slow ya down.

I have been doing little things like welding doors back on cars , and making speaker brackets. just little stuff. I need to get out and advertise. It dosent help that I am working 10 hours a day too.

I need to get on the ball, I have all the paperwork taken care of. Just need to get myself some buisiness.

Thanks for thinking of me BuiltToughF250

PSD POWER

i get alot of business from people i know, who know people... hopefully your friends and family know someone who needs work and will mention you, then their neighboors see you and tell you to come look at something of theirs, then those neighboors refer you to their buddies, and so on....

good luck and have a fast recovery-

i do tree and stump removal, tree trimming. its a famil thing but ive "branched" off on my own. my ol' man started it, now my brother is getting me into it.

i have a pick up, 3 chainsaws, a self drive stump grinder, trailer, run an ad in the paper, and feel pretty good about it. i make more in a "good" day than i use to in a week at my old job. BUT i dont work when there is snow on the ground... no income then.

PSD POWER - i guess is a fabricator/welder. good carear to be in. he wants to start his own personal service

I do anything that has to do with metal. You want it fixed, built, designed, formed, fabricated. I can do it. I built the flat bed trailer that is in my gallery. I built a radar trailer for my dads police dept., Fixed a sand rail, built a mail box You name it I have or could build it.

I like doing all kinds of things. Workin full time in a welding shop for six years has just wore me down. Need to get this up and runnin.

BuiltToughF250

My dad gets me all kinds of work. The small city he works for needs small stuff all the time. I am the first one they call.

I am gettin better. I just have to slow down an quit reinjuring my self. thank you!!

Do you do your buissiness full time or do you have another job? I thought you said in the winter you didn't work. That would kill me. to many payments.

I live in Cabot Arkansas, just north of Little Rock, I am in the military at Little Rock AFB..

PSD, can you do anything with damaged car frames, unibodys in particular, or in cutting and adding length to a frame?

Depends on the cercumstance. I cut and bent a truck frame rewelded it for a freind that was makin a dune buggy out of it. that was three years ago and it is still goin strong. If it is steal it is possible. Give me some specifics. pretty sure I could do most anything you needed.

yeah, i dont work when there is snow on the ground. i dont want to get into snowplowing either- its $3,700 bucks for a snow plow for my truck... you need alot of driveway accounts to match that. plus wear and tear on your truck, gas, tires...

and hey, I HAVE ALOT OF PAYMENTS TOO!! monthly- 525 for 4 years on the truck, stump grinder 170 bucks per month, computer from gateway- 70 bucks a month, phones 70 bucks a month, insurance 219 a month, AOL 23 bucks a month, 4 wheeler 150 a month, i owe my dad 2,000 for the snowmobile, gas for the V-10 and the toys $300 a month, business ad in the paper 40 bucks a week... cable tv 90 bucks, and when i have extra cash i give my mother as much cash as i can for "rent", beer 80-90 per month

oh yeah about winter.... i save as much as i can... this last winter i was able to work into january, which was very nice. i dont have a house payment yet but by then ill have the toys payed off i hope. like i said earlier i make ALOT more in a day than i use to in a week, and everything i use for business is a TAX WRITE OFF... i was pretty tight for money two weeks ago but now its smooth sailing.

Soon as I pay off my trailer and my truck I am gonna buy a house too.

Sounds like your a very responsible person. two thumbs up to you!!
