sticky throttle cable
Experiencing an issue with the throttle cable on my 390 cu in with 2 bbl Holley. Cable seems to hang up occassionaly causing the motor to idle high. With a quick tap on the gas pedal, it releases and the idle slows down. Most likely it is the original cable and probably dry inside the cable casing. Don't think its the throttle return spring.
Is it possible to shoot it with a spray lube in the cable case? Am I better off replacing the cable? BTW this is in a '65F100.

The 20" repro cable: C5TZ-9A758-AH = 1965/66 F100/250 2WD was used with the Auto-Lite 2100 series 2V carb.
There were no Holleys available for these trucks, so how does this cable attach to the carb linkage?

Holley sells a kit for about $20 that has an assortment of adapters that will allow you to use the stock throttle linkage.

Thanks for the replies. The cable connects to the linkage the same as it connected to the AutoLite 2100. After closer examination of the cable, looks like all in all I'll be better off with a new one and be done with it.
