Any tips on taking the e4od out? this will be my first time doing it. I have a transmission jack.

-tc slips off?
Remove the dust cover on the bottom , front of the tranny. You should be able to see the flex plate and TC. The TC is bolted to the flex plate with four bolts.Remove the nuts from the TC studs.
You will have to rotate the flex plate to get to all the nuts. There should be 6 bolts that hold the tranny to the engine. when the 6 bolts are removed, place the jack under the tranny, and raise the tranny a little, remove the nuts from the tranny mount then remove the tranny cross member from the truck. There will be 6 bolts on each side of the x-member, 2 that hold the x-member to thebottom of frame, 2 that hold the x-member support to the top of the truck frame, and 2 that bolt the support to the x-member. After the cross member is removed, lower the tranny while rocking the tranny to break it loose from the engine. You may have to pry the tranny back from the engine with a pry bar or large screw driver depending on how tight the allinment dowls are stuck in the engine. When the TC bolts clear the flex plate you can lower the tranny compleatly down.
