E4OD + 5.8L, Surge when coasting...

I have a 95 E150 equipped with an E4OD behind a 5.8L. The van has ~150k miles on it, and I recently fixed a small trans leak up at the secondary oil-to-air cooler. I have checked the fluid level a few times and it is correct. When I accelerate to ~45mph, and take my foot off the gas, the van 'surges' (slows down in pulses) 3 times, like the TQ is locking and unlocking or the coast clutch is acting funky. Its exactly 3 times every time. Do I perhaps have a sticky valve somewhere?

If it's a sticky valve, add a quart of Lucas Transmission treatment to the fluid. It will cure the problem in the first few miles of driving if that's the problem.
