e4OD problem?
Hello, long time lurker here, never had much to offer just tried to learn as much as possible from the members of this forum.
Just picked up a 93 long bed Rustfree Texas truck. 4.9 ltr e4OD. Love everything about it but the trans. Most of the time it shifts just fine but once in a while it upshifts so hard from 1-2 that I fear for the U joints. Every other time shifts both up and down are smooth, but It's that once in a while that's a concern that it may be causing damage. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Ralphie

Most likely the 1-2 accumulator valve is sticking. If the trans fluid is old, new fluid might free it up. It may not, and if not, the accumulator body can be removed by taking the pan off.
