There are several older turn signal switch threads which I didn't want to ressurect. All I was wondering is if some of you could post some pictures of the process of taking off the steering wheel on any late 60's era f100 to get at the turn signal switch. That part was gone over real quickly in the older threads, but I'd like to see actual pictures too see if it is above me or not. I've read up on it some, but that's nothing like seeing some actual screen shots of taking it off and seeing what's inside.
you tube has a video of a mustang one , basically the same deal .
only thing i recommend is cut old wire at plug ( 1" wire showing ) then after you snake new wires thru transfer one wire at a time to old plug , this way no messing up what goes where .
As mike states, nothing much to it once the wheel is out of the way. Cutting plug like he states allows quick removal and then you can match up the new wires to the old plug once new switch is installed.
(even I didn't try that when I did my last one. I like doing things the hard way LOL).
Hard part is using a small screwdriver to unlatch the wires from the plug.
If you can change disc brake pads you can pull and replace the steering wheel without problems. If you can do drum brake shoes, you can do the turn signal switch...without that skill level though I wouldn't attempt it...pay someone else to deal with it if the budget allows.
