replaced the valve cover gasket and pulled the fuel line, and a connector block attached to back of the head. (300 cid straight six, 1986 f-150). Replaced everything (I think) Now there's no spark. (pulled #1 with plug attached) Any ideas???
The bracket in rear as well as the fuel line needed to be pulled to get the rocker cover off. Anyone know a common problem in pulling the three connectors at the (vacuum)block attached to the cover that would result in ignition failure. Is there a wire, fuse block or something else that might go???
The 3 vacuum solenoids have a red wire that comes STRAIGHT off the EEC Power relay, so if you had the key on AND you shorted that wire to ground, or pinched it when you reinstalled the bracket, you'd have blown the fuse/fusible link for the EEC, which also powers the ignition module.
