New to Forum along with new ride

Hello to all. I have been trolling this forum for months now while me new truck has been on order. I have learned a ton just reading everyone's comments.. so thanks to you all. I am coming out of a 2015 GMC Denali Duramax (Which was an excellent truck and pulled my boat like a champ) I am excited to see what the new ford will do once I get 1000 miles on her.

My reason for this post was about air bags. I didn't need them on the Denali but as you can see from one of the pics, that it squats more than i like. I did have a Fabtech Leveling Kit installed, FYI. Are there any air bags for these new 17's yet? Will the air bags hurt the ride I have now (I would have the on board compressor to inflate/deflate when needed)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, they will. I have them on my current truck for that very reason.

However, this time around I'm going to try the Torklift Stableloads.
They engage the overload springs earlier and the lower ones can be moved out of the way when you don't have a load.

Truck Camper Suspension - truck sway - truck sag - reduce camper roll | StableLoad.

They both achieve the same result, just by different means.

Firestone Ride-Rite air bag system with compressor and wireless controller is the way to go and will def fix the sag. Easily to inflate/deflate via the wireless control. Surprised the Denali truck didn't squat with your boat. NICE btw!

Very nice truck! Same as mine except cab lights. Congratulations.

I am putting torklift stableloads and Helwig Big Wig airbags on my 2016. I am putting them on because I am getting a slide in truck camper.
They would work great for your boat as well.

The level kit must be making this worse. Why do people feel the need to override the engineering that Ford put into these trucks to allow them to perform properly? What's the point of leveling the truck? I personally like the look of a nice rake.

Aesthetics. Plain and simple. People like the truck to sit level because in their minds it looks better. You like the rake, they like it level, just an opinion, but you are right when loaded it will look like its sagging when actually it would be sitting close to level if the front wasn't lifted. Air bags keep the level look even when loaded.

I saw a post earlier about the seat belt chime where someone's answer was to put the seat belt on to stop it. I guess I feel the same way about the rake. Put a load on like the truck is meant to have and it goes away. See, no problem again.

Thanks for the responses. One last question, if I put the Firestone airbags on and deflate them when I'm not towing, will I keep the factory ride or will it ride like a lumber wagon?

They will not effect the ride if completely deflated. There are some who say there must always be a few pounds pressure in the system to preserve the air bags.. I have had them over 210K miles and they are still fine and run fully deflated when not in use.
