Installing MBRP Exhaust
After driving around the last few weeks with the truck unloaded and hitting 1200F pulling some hillls I decided to install this tomorrow:
MBRP Performance Exhaust
Really wanted the no muffler option but that product is on backorder.
I decided against the SS version since it won't be needed in the southeast with no salty roads.
Mostly since I plan to pull my boat across the country with the bed loaded down I might need to cool the exhaust a little. Hope its worth it!!!

I have a MBRP 4" turbo back with muffler, no cat, on my truck an I love it. Kinda quite when just normal driving but when you mash the skinny pedal you can hear it pretty good.
I do plan on doin a muffler delete on it soon.

I have the 4" SS turbo back, but I still have the factory cat in mine. I can't remember how far they dropped now, but egt's went way down. Unloaded my truck almost never hits 1000 unless I am mashing the pedal. Pulling 10k it VERY RARELY gets over 1100 on hills, and cruises at around 900. Plus you get to hear the turbo whine a lot more and you get that wonderful throaty grumble when you step on it.

Its installed.
My reactions:
1. The whistle is super annoying. Hopefully, it becomes less noticeable but for now I really hate it.
2. EGT's seem to be down a little but not as much as I had hoped. My guess is about 100F which is better than nothing. Today wasn't a good day to judge though since it was blowing 30 mph or better...
3. My butt dyno is telling me that it seems to be slightly more sluggish off the line.
4. I love the throaty grumble when I step on it!!! (Just not the annoying turbo whistle!)
Time will tell if I put the cat back on it or not....the whistle being the reason I would put it back on.

Well thats good you got it installed. If you dont like the turbo whistle reinstall the cat and itll quiet it down. OR if you want to leave it free flowing id be more than happy to trade you my '05 turbo which doesnt whistle near as much as your '03. :-) i wish my truck had that whistle the '03's do.
But 100* is a good drop. Are your readings pre or post turbo?

The whistle is ear piercing...I just turn the radio up...
EGT probe is post turbo.
The exhaust is a 3.5 inch downpipe and 4 inch from there back with a muffler. No cat for now with no intent to put it back on...
I had a shop do the install since I am prepping to move...excuses I know.

After driving around 2,000 miles with the exhaust installed I have a slightly different opinion.
The whistle seems to have quieted down or I have gotten used to it. It is noticeably worse when the engine is cold.
Overall it doesn't bother me as much and I do not regret my purchase!
