...We not longer own a Ford. I replaced our 86 F250 4x4 with a 1999 Dodge V-10 5 speed QC 4x4. I bought it in the Sf Bay Area off the original owner with 72,000 miles. The price was such I couldn't refuse it $5500.
Anyway just wanted to say hello to any of you guys that remembered me. Also hello to those that don't know me...
Hey Craig, welcome back!
A Dodge? Oh no. Sounds like you got a really good deal though. 72K on '99 is pretty low miles (I've got half of that on an '11).
Having truck problems on 95 is no fun and can be pretty lonely. Been there, done that.
Really good to hear from you, take care, and don't let that Dodge make you be a stranger around here.

I believe I have said it here many times, I have never been a real brand loyal person. I try to buy the best deal & the vehicles with the least built in defects. If I could of found a 90s up to 97 Ford 4x4 with a 460 for anything close to what I paid for this Dodge with around 100K I most likely would of had to make a decision. I don't like the Ford V10 or any of the modular Ford engines. Chevy 8.1 & 6.0 gas have some issues that caused me to beware. So it didn't leave me much to look at. I do like the Dodge V10 in that it is an engine that develops max torque at 2400 rpms & holds a pretty flat torque curve. I don't drive my towing trucks enough miles to own a diesel. A couple of thousand miles a year.
I looked for an Explorer 4x4 95-97 they were the better years of the later Explorers before I bought our 98 Blazer 4x4. But I couldn't find anything close to the mileage & cost I paid for the 98 Blazer 4x4. I bought it in Kingman a few months ago for $3900 with 115K with a real clean CARFAX.
So not driving Fords was not from lack of looking or trying on my part.
I'll be hanging around this is a good forum with a lot of knowledge. I'm interested in this new Eco Engine Ford has out. I'm interested in how the turbos are going to hold up in real world driving. Ford has had many issues with Turbos over the years so I'm interested in how these work out in the long run. Will they continue to get leading gas mileage over the long haul.
