hey everyone I'm new to your Forum but have read your posts and questions for about a year.
I've been restoring a 68 F250 Camper Special for close to a year, I'm just about to get the frame sandblasted "exciting stuff". I've got it down to axles and rails, at the moment so I'm starting to source out some of the little stuff to put it back together, such as the clips and fasteners to hold wiring and brake lines..............do you think I can find them! tried: LMC, Dennis C, NPD, to name a few of the big ones. Does anyone know where I can find these?
Hi and Welcome to FTE and the AZ Chapter! check with these guys...
Lot of new faces around. That is always good.
I had to get rid of the old Ford last year. It left me sitting in Las Vegas with our trailer in tow. It had given us a bunch of problems going down to Yuma. I had finally had enough. Ten pm Vici & I were cruising down Hwy 95 below Searchlight. We just had crossed into California & the head lights just went out @ 70 mph pitch black outside. Well I had to jumper them & it was down hill from there.
I will say one thing these newer trucks sure handle our trailer so much easier. Towing with the Dodge V-10 is a whole different game. I'm sure the newer Fords are not much different. Although the Dodge V-10 has 325 HP & 450 ft/lb of torque @ 2400 rpms. So it develops it's max torque at a real low rpm for a gas rig. Torque curve is pretty flat. With a manual 5 speed there is plenty of gears & power.
This will most likely be the last truck I buy.
But I got a lot of good use & had a lot of good runs with that old Ford. It is being used as a wood hauler these days. I had way too much money in that truck but it got to me that trip & I have never looked back.
Hey monsoon. I wish we had horses again I love riding horses and hauling hay. I want to try and get a job sooner or later loading hay at the local places. I got a good friend whom owns a place probably would hire me.
Trav
That would be cool, I d like to get a job doing that!
Howdy everyone. Got up at 3:45, getting ready for another day of training. Its 4:28 now, should be .....
Hope everyone had a good day today. Hopefully these pools today are too jacked up. Spending 30 plus mins at each pool makes for a really long day when you have 19 or more to do.
That Totally stainless looks like quite the resource.... thanks Bill W.... appreciate that.
I have a race to win....my wife bought 11 laying hens "and I'm not so fond of them" feeling for her is mutual of my 68'
So silly me bet her I'd be done my truck before she has an egg in the pan!
I got 4 months boys/gals, I might have to eat crow while she has a western LOL
Gigger you asked where abouts in Ontario I'm from? I am, just north of Kingston.

My buddy Eric bought there whole truck kit for his 64....they have good stuff. He also had trouble finding the stock fuel and brake line clips so he bought the ones from TS. Good Morning Everyone
good morning TFE
hope you all have a great day
Ill be back to my old job come friday morning so no more driving to Phx monday morning and home again friday night (makes fo longggg weeks)
I'll admit that I haven't priced out stainless stuff well...ever, so I don't have a cost to compare, but the prices I saw for the '61-'66 body and engine bolt kits seemed very reasonable - approx $250 to rebolt most of the truck (body and engine kit combined). I'd guesstimate maybe another $100 or so to take care of misc bolts for the trans, suspension and some other parts? Even assuming high, less than $500 to stainless the whole truck..sign me up! Heh...now I'm curious, and will have to spend some time this evening browsing the catalog and find out just what the cost would be to replace every single fastener in the ol' boy would be, lol.

I think Eric was right about $350 for every nut and blot to do the whole truck.
