Have a HOT Hump Day, but stay hydrated & cool!

I went through some more files in my moms old file cabinet yesterday. I've been waiting patiently for 7 yrs to finally get rid of her things. I can't believe some of the things she kept in there. I did find some old pictures, $2 bills, & coins. Now to figure out if they're worth anything!
I also found a document of ownership & information on 2 oil paintings from 1861 that she had. After my mom passed away, Cammy didn't want them, so since my sisters wanted them...we sent them to her for the cost of S&H - approx. $400, then she gave one of them to my other sister. Now that I see the paperwork, I see why they wanted them! Probably worth a small fortune!!! Oh well, Cammy had no where for the paintings & neither did I - although NOW I'm kicking myself for it! Had I known then, what I know now...I never would've sent them! I guess in the long run, it's nice to know that we aren't in it for the money like my sisters are. It's the memories & sentimental value of things that's important. Hell, I've kept greeting cards/letters from people that are deceased just because they signed it! I guess my mom raised one of her kids somewhat right?!
It's amazing that after they received the paintings, I haven't heard from either of my sisters since & every time I tried to call one of them, they won't take my calls or they've change their number/email! Nice sisters huh?
Don't get me wrong, I definately have champagne tastes (what girl doesn't?) but you deal with what you can afford.

Enjoy your day & happy humping!

Glad to hear that Mat found a new place...
And good morning to all the Nevada trucksters too!

Everyone have a great day, now get to humping!
I'm waiting for my Uncle to call so I can replace the TPS in his truck. The mechanic in Elko first told him that it was the injectors. $800 later, now the mechanic is telling him it is the valves in the #3 cylinder. After pulling the codes with my phone (torque app on android) and researching them it can "possibly" be traced to the TPS. Here's hoping.

That would be sooo
to make it tell on its self !!! Dave
Last year in Feb. my step-mom passed, 5 yrs. after my Dad. I was on my "2011 WORLD TOUR ...(USA LEG)", after my 3x heart by-pass and had nothing to do. I Drove to Chicago (Elgin area) to help my brother "clean out" the "old folks" house. Nothing had been touched after his passing. My Dad was a tool/ham radio guy, and she was a collector of art and Fine Jewelry. My bro let me stay at the old place (great for my closure time) I took ALL of Dads ham radio gear to a "Hamfest" swap meet and organized the rest of the stuff for an "estate sale". Lots of fine art, Chrystal, and Jewelry went to the family. I walked away with the pick of dads tools,a 19" LCD TV and a 4 mo. of rent free summer vacation in the Chicago land area and some quality closure time.
We all eventually have to deal with our parents passing.... but we should remember the people not the prizes... therefore I am professionally comfortably poor but smiling with my memories !!! Dave
