Loose Accelerator Cable

Hi guys,

I have a 1998 Ford Expedition 5.4L.

I removed the throttle body along with the accelerator cable.

When I reinstalled the throttle body and accelerator cable, there was a lot of slack on the accelerator cable. So now the accelerator pedal does not spring back to the "ready" position.

I looked and looked and can not figure out how to tighten the slack of the accelerator cable. I know it can't be because of the cable being stretched out, because it was fine before I took it off.

I am hoping somebody on this site can "shine a light" on this issue I have.

Thanks in Advance for any help!

Ok, so far no replies. Does this mean everybody is stumped as me?

I guess what I am basically asking is: Is the accelerator cable adjustable?

Thanks.

Me to I removed the old cable and it was or I broke the adjustment? I bought a used cable off a F-250 7 lugger at a salvage yard. And know I have not discovered how to adjust it???
