My 79 f 250 4x4 was converted from a 400 to a 460 and the goof that did it butchered the pillars that the mounts bolt to and the drivers side (torque side) is the worst. I am looking to replace the entire setup on both sides and I was hopping for some suggestions on what to get other than a stock set up.
I had the same problem. I went to the junkyard a found a 78-79 4x4 and unbolted the towers. Paid 20 bucks for the pair. Then I ordered the motor mounts from west coast broncos. Seems like no one is having problems with them when other brands are. I didn't want to be replacing them later.
Why not just fix what you have ? You now know where the holes need to be so you could cut a piece of plate out, cut that area out & weld in the new piece then make the new holes.
