PHP ficm tune

I am wondering if anyone has had any problems after having their ficm PHP eco or Atlas 40 tune?

I just got off the phone with Bill for my PCM rollback, he's definitely smart and seems like a stand up guy when you talk to him. I put the Atlas 40 on last night, drove to work today, and so far so good. Bismic and TexasA&M both run them, maybe they'll chime in with more long-term results, but as of today I'm happy.

I'll re-run my 0-60s on the CTS over the weekend and see if my redneck-dyno actually changes.

Thanks Texastech,
Would anyone recommend the eco over the atlas 40?
I cant see any benefits to get the eco over the atlas 40. Is it harder on your truck?
I tow a slide in camper lots in the summer and tow a 5000lb boat also but not at the same time. I am not studded. Im pulling the trigger tommorow so your input is greatly appreciated.

It's my understanding they send the tuner with all the tunes loaded, you select 1 and try it out, continuing until you find 1 your happy with.

You can switch back and forth between the tunes if you have the Gryphon programmer, but if you want a tune added directly to the FICM without having to invest in the programmer (thereby saving some serious cash), the tune you elect to go with is the tune that you have.

I run the Atlas 40 on my 05 Excursion and wouldn't be without it, but I don't tow heavy all that often at all.

As the PHP tunes don't advance timing, there really shouldn't be a reason to think that cylinder pressures are increasing, but Bill @ PHP continues to suggest caution as the word of the day until he can get cylinder pressure readings done.

No one wants to start blowing up head gaskets...

My ficm normally is 44 to 48.5. But I have seen it drop to 39 a few times after I first start it in the morning. If its starting to go bad. I would rather go ahead an get it fixed before it takes out a few injectors. I can squeeze a ficm rebuild out of my wallet. But injector would have to sit in yard an watch grass grow around it for a little while.

From Ed's web site:

For the two year ($325) service, however, we take things a step further by using even higher end components in our work that go even further to resolve the original design challenges and more closely scrutinize the parts potentially needing replacement generally, basically replacing any components tested that don't test out as if they were new instead of 'merely' replacing any components that are found burnt, heat damaged, out of spec, or suffering from bad solder connections

$150 for the tuning.

Mark is exactly on track with our offerings. I just may have to add him to the payroll!

Volts dipping down to 39 is a FICM in failure mode.

Let us know if we can help!!

You know Ed, with your skills you probably should get on board the DashBoss technology movement (iphone based gauges, etc).

The DashBoss is certainly awesome from a coolness factor, but it still doesn't measure EGT's or support the addition of other sensors. I like my Insight CTS, even if I CAN'T use my iPhone with it.

If I'm reading their website correctly, the DashBoss can read 2 extra sensors.

DashBoss Vehicle Monitoring System - HOME

DashBoss monitoring review. - Page 15 - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Some on the other forum have EGT hooked up and working.

They have added the capability of add-on sensors now. That is the business I was referring to. Seems like they are still optimizing how they piece together all of the parts.

oops - good post Sean!
