PHP Atlas 40 - looks like improved fuel economy
I probably should wait for the fill-up, but I am down to 1/3 of a tank of fuel and my lie-o-meter says 19.4 mpg. That is w/ mixed driving - some city driving but more short highway trips (20 miles w/ some stop and go) than city driving. I don't know HOW LONG it has been since I have seen that kind of fuel economy. Certainly it was before I installed the mud terrain DuraTracs (which dropped me a solid 1.25 mpg)! The wind has been VERY light here lately - quite rare actually, but good for mpg tests.
I usually see an average of 1 mpg offset between the hand calculated and lie-o-meter values (hand calculated is less naturally). So I guess I am around 18 mpg (hopefully a tad higher). I suspect that if I were totally travelling on a long highway trip, the lie-o-meter would be well over 20 mpg (assuming no wind).
After I fixed my brake caliper (not long ago), my recent fuel economy has been around 16 mpg average. My "long term average" has been 16.25 mpg.
All that being said, I would expect that normal winds would knock off about 1 mpg.
With that adjustment, it looks promising that the PHP Atlas 40 is adding about 1 mpg in fuel economy.
Hope I am not jumping the gun and reporting too early, but I keep ALL my fuel data, plot it, and look for statistical changes ........... and this looks very promising at this point!

Well, the list is growing for my vacation, May 6th.
I'm sending in my FICM to ED.
Also thinking about pulling the turbo and cleaning it. My VGT is hard set at 85% at hot idle.
I need to start looking for all the parts I need for the turbo cleaning and get them ordered.
I'm leaning towards the Atlas 40 for Ed to upgrade. My mileage sucks right now, and hoping between the turbo cleaning and a FICM upgrade I can raise the MPG above 13.8.
Thanks for the info Mark.
