Hey guys, I have a strange one for you I think. After driving to work (100 mi) this morning I cooled the truck down for about 10 min. Then after the front gate was opened I started the truck and pulled into my spot which is about 100 ft from where I cooled down. The work day ends and I go to start the truck. That's when it happened. An unusually long crank time (4-5 sec, way long for my rig) followed by an abrupt fire up. This is the 2 nd time this has happened both circumstances identical. It never does this other then these two times. The only common denominator is the long drive. The ficm is less then a year old. Just wondering what u guys thought about this. Thanks in advance for your input
Btw the truck is a mostly stock 05 with 160,000 mi. Been a pretty good truck I might add. Also I have noticed an erratic idol while truck is warming up. Don't know if this helps. Ambient temp is warm around 60.
I would suggest that you review threads on high pressure oil leaks and STC fittings. Get a ScangageII and learn how to set it up to monitor ICP and IPW while cranking, and IPR while running.
My diesel tech skills stop at oil changes and fuel filters lol. I would pay to have it done. Is there any benefit to getting it done before failure,ie money saved? Or should I let all that fail then correct it
