I am installing a trailer brake controller and have run the blue wire up front and I know the black and white wires got to the battery. My question is on my 96 f250, what color wire on my truck does the red wire go to? I was told it goes to the brake switch, but there are 2 wires there and I do not have a service manual or wiring scmatic to look at.
Are you talking about the 3 pin connector under the dash that have the "trailer" labels on them? Were these 3 wires originally unconnected to anything and siliconed off? I'm having trouble after uninstalling a brake controller someone else put on and wasn't done right (wires disconnected, my wires ended up frying, etc).
Correct. you need the adapter show above to butt connector to the back of the brake controller. The it PLUGS right into the trucks harness under the dash
