I have a stock 94 turbo that i got and am wondering whats left out there for upgrades, I know ATS doesnt make anything anymore and I would like to get rid of that dinky 2.25 inch elbow on the turbo, and a new down pipe, would changing the center section of the turbo to a water cooled one help much? they dont cost much and any little gain or help would be nice, I hope theres something out there still for these old girls.
Just curious, what are some upgrades that can be done besides exhaust and intercooling to the stock ats turbo? Has anyone put a wicked wheel or other upgraded compressor parts on these?

Yes. You can have a 60-1 wheel put in. Little bit better of a compressor wheel.
Would a water cooled center section be any benefit for these turbo's? It wouldnt be hard to plumb in, but if youll get no gain out of it then its not really worth it, what do you guys think?

Basic mods like the elbow upgrade and the 60-1 wheel are about the most I would do to that turbo if you ask me. Much more than that and you might as well just upgrade the turbo. That is probably the route I would go in all honesty.
i bet if a guy installed a turbo (or owned a factory turbo truck) and drove it for a year, then did those 3 things to/for his turbo,he'd think he just upgraded turbo's.
those 3 are simply about maximizing what you already have.
im about to add some whistle to mine and join in on the fun..........finally.
