Exhaust system help

I've found a little help in the Shop Manual on page 20 but can anyone expand on this please ? When I got my M-47 Mercury all that was left of the exhaust was the pipes off the manifolds and a muffler that was on but not in place via any hangers.
I've got the complete original style system from front to back but no installation instructions. I could wait till the engine is back from the machine shop and test fit to find the right way but thought I'd ask for some pictures/help.

they bolt up in the frount.
there is one pipe that crosses over from one side to the other, the pipe runs under the crank pully then hooks up to the other side.
I can,t rember what side the exaust is on but they do cross over in the frount.
hope this helps

If your truck is like mine the Canadian built Mercury uses a Y pipe similar to modern V8's .left side sleeved together into Y from exhaust pipe on right side then proceeds down right side to muffler then tail pipe out to rear of truck , supported at muffler and behind axle .
Hope that helps .

Thanks for the replies. The shop manual shows the hangers on either side of the muffler. Its the tailpipe that I'm not sure of. Not sure which end is which and where the hanger for it is but by the axle hint is a help and makes sense.
I think I'll wait for the engine and test fit my way around the problem. Thanks again for the replies.
