Disasemble Pipe

Anyone have some tips for taking apart an exhaust system that had muffler clamps on it? It looks like both the interior and exterior pipe is crimped.

What we do to disassemble clamped exhaust systems is to cut it apart with a torch. A clmaped system is very hard to just take apart. Just take a sawzall or torch and have at it.

An air chisel has an attachment specifically for cutting exhaust pipe off of mufflers
without having to cut the muffler at all. It works amazingly quick.

If the pipes haven't been connected for too long you can cut the outer pipe just beyond the crimped area and the inner pipe should slide out. I just tried it tonight on the workbench and saved enough of a flared end on a pipe section to reuse it. But these had been connected only 7 weeks.
