got this from another site talking about straightpiping guy says you can just take the muffler out and put the right size piece of flex in its place is there any truth to this or is it just plain exhaust

I am running a 4 inch piece of flex pipe in my system, it works fine. The last semi I had had two pieces of flex pipe, as standard fitting. A lot of people will tell you it is no good, but I'll wager they have never used it. 
It can make an exhaust fit where you just couldn't force it to...

You cannot buy flex exhaust pipe from home depot. You can buy it from any big truck service depot, usually found near freeways. It is a particular type of flexible pipe, that is very strong, the flex pipe sold elsewhere is not made out of suitable materiel and will distort easily, and pull apart.
