Searched a bit, but no real luck. Just got my frame from Mack Hils and I would like to put it together right the first time. Looking for some good picts of the frame assembly, which is not from across the garage! Seen a few, but they don't show the rear member very well, and the does the front member go under, over or is not attached to the front bed panel ?
I have a 50 bed all in pieces at my shop. I'll have to take a look at it again. If no one beats me to it, I'll try to get some pics up for you. I don't recall the front panel attaching to the subframe. Only to the metal floor pan that layed over the wood planks.
Here's one of the several pics in the gallery photos of my '40/'41 project showing the assembly of portions of the Mack Hils bed that I'm using. Go take a look at them. Hope some of it helps with your questions. I know what you mean about trying to figure it all out ... it takes time but you'll get there. I had to deal with some bedside panel warpage and the rear member caused me some special headaches. I couldn't get it to hold shape until I welded in some pieces of 1" tube for stiffeners. There's a pic of that in the gallery too. The bed is mounted to the frame right now for fit-up, but if you need to see something, I'd be glad to take a specific picture when I get a chance. - Ken
