Engine stalls when clutch is engaged.

Engine stalls when clutch is engaged.
My wife and I picked up her a 1959 Ford F100 yesterday. It was pouring rain so we hooked up the vacuum operated wiper motor so she could drive home. On the way home every time she came to a stop sign or red light and engaged the clutch the motor would stall out and it would take a few min. for the truck to start again. It also seemed to have lost some of it's power. The truck ran fine before we hooked up the wiper motor. Would hooking up the wiper motor cause this problem? If so what can we do to remedy it. It is a 223 cid, 3 on the tree.
Also my wife would like to join the forums. Which one should she join? Should she join the '48 thru 60' or stay on this one with me and my '66?
Thanks,
Mickey

Thanks guys for the help. It was a vaccuum leak after all. We unhooked the wiper motor and the truck ran fine again. We would like to change the wiper motor to a 2 spd. electric one. The 6 volt wiring system has been changed to 12 volt. What year model wiper motor will interchange with the '59?
