Last night in a usual SW Fla thunder storm, my 89 F250 wipers started to slow down then stopped. Once in a while they will slowly start back up to normal then slow down and stop. So much for the $10 junkyard part...
So I took the orignal wiper motor apart, and found the magnets came unglued from the can!! How intresting so I took the other one apart and FOUND THE SAME!! It seams Ford used a poor glue to hold those magnets in place.
So after locating where the magnets should be(old glue residue) I cleaned off the can and magnets. With 5 min JB weld expoxy I remounted the magnets and relubed the gears. Now I have a good working wiper motor. But watch out those magnets are fragile and WILL brake(don't let them grab eachother or drop them) I lost the 2nd motor due to that.
