Yep, that's what I did. Hit "back", copied all, and pasted into a PM to Chris. Then when he opened the thread I pasted it into a post and all was well. Tnx, Chris.
And, I'd forgotten the other GM applications for the 800 CFM QJet. Makes sense.
Bill, I did listen. I tore back into the carb and found that I did not seat the metering rods correctly and bent one. I straightened it and got is seated properly. Works just like new. Thank you to everyone who posted a reply and helped me.

Great, glad to hear it. That is another common problem with Qjet rebuilds.

Reason: typo
akboy - Glad you got it fixed. And, please report back on how well the thing performs over time. As previously said, I like QJets and would consider putting one on this 351M which, according to Bill, is about the right engine size for it. But, given the spread bore I'd have to get an adaptor and I'm already planning a test of three carbs so don't really need a fourth.
Always something simple like that to drive you up the wall. One of the first big jobs I did was a head gasket when I was 14. Felt like Chuck Norris when I had it all back together. Would run fine until it got warm, then over heat and start pouring coolant out the back of the head.
When it was getting loaded onto the tow truck I spied something: I'd forgotten the 1in rubber hose that connected the crank case to the block for coolant passage. It touched the motor on one side and had a dig out into the fire wall. Surrounded on all 4 sides, only way to get it in is head back off then on.
For that, and several other reasons, car was parted soon after that hahaha
