Thanks! Maybe one of these days I'll stop buying em and start workin on one!!LOL I'm gonna put this one on the road soon. Just needs a few minor things before I can drive it everyday.
Suspected when I drove this truck home, but checked to confirm it this evening, this truck has 4.10 gears! So that means when I swap the D60 from my 350 into it, all I have to do to the rear is change the blocks and u-bolts!! My 350 has front and rear sway bars. I'm debating whether or not to put those on this truck.
Found the extra key in the glove box yesterday with the transmitter for keyless entry.....and it works!!! The truck also has the factory tow package wiring harness. I don't know for sure, but seems like this truck has about every option that was available. Does anyone know if the '97s came factory with a CD player? I don't think I've ever seen one that I can remember.
One other thing I noticed this evening, this truck only has two leaves in the front spring packs and no overloads on the rear. I thought all the diesels had three leaves in the front springs. Any info on that?

Mine only has two springs up front. I think that is the standard although I'm not sure why you don't have any overloads out back...
not all diesels had 3 springs, I have never heard of a 250 that had three from the factory.
the rear overloads were also not a standard option
I wish I could find a factory CD player.
I have three F250s now and Tyler has one and this is the only one that has two leaves in the front. The rest of them have three. I pulled a ZF trans out of an '88 250 a while back and it had three leaves. My '92 350 CC only has two leaves, but it's a gasser. I knew the overloads weren't standard, but it kinda surprised me to not see em on this truck cause the history I got on the truck was the original owner was an older guy that bought the truck just to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. That's all he did with it. No matter, I've got three or four sets of springs and overloads, I'll probably put some on it.
Mine doesn't have the overloads in back, surprised me to. My 91 F150 does. My truck came with the tow package also, I would think that it should have them. I put the firestone air bags on so I guess they are now my overloads.
Do you think it has anything to do with whether or not its a 4by4? Mine is only a two wheel drive without overloads and my 150 is a 4by4 with overloads.
The rear springs on these trucks seem kinda wacky too. This truck has four leaves, Tyler's has five leaves, the 94.5 250 LB has seven leaves, the '97 250 LB has seven leaves, and my 350 CC and the 350 RC parts truck both have five leaves. Doesn't make sense why so many different spring options. Oh well, I've got plenty to chose from. Should be able to put together a heck of a suspension on this one!
Normal, I've read Ford put whatever they had that met or exceeded specs on these trucks for rear springs, whatever they had close or an abundance of was put on, unless special ordered. Mine has the same leaf pack as a buddy's 350, although worn out. IIRC, 5 leaves and overloads
