Hey guys,
I did a little research but didn't find anything regarding my question. I have a '79 F250 with a 460 and NP435. I just got done pulling the engine to do a clutch and some other upgrades. I know the flywheel is a L&L product. What is the bolt pattern for this flywheel? I know that you can get clutch discs and pressure plates directly through them but they are way more than what I want to spend. Do they use a standard 390/400 flywheel bolt pattern? Do you guys recommend any clutches? This is strictly a pull rig for my trail truck. Thanks guys!
mudrunner4ever, I put in a LUK 12 finger pressure plate with a HD LUK clutch disc with a HD throwout bearing. This combo gives an easy clutch pedal pressure and a very strong engagement at the clutch. I originally put this setup in my Daughters 76 F-100 4x4 so she could drive it easier in town. I like it so much that I will put that setup in my 71 F-100 4x4 when the time comes.
Depends on what style psi plate and what size clutch it is drilled for. Hopefully it's a 12" ? It might be drilled for any style of psi plate. Does it have a lot of extra holes drilled and tapped in it ? If it does then you can use any psi plate style you want. You can get clutches from any mfgr in any weight you would need.
I measured the clutch disk. Came out right to 11 inches. The flywheel has extra holes but none that look to support a 12 inch disk. Here are a few pictures....
Also, I've been looking for a Luk clutch and cant seem to find them. Any suggestions?
