Which centerforce clutch?

Hey I'm finally getting around to replacing the clutch in my truck and I need to know which clutch/kit to get. The tranny was previously identified as coming from a '69 Torino (C90R-7A040-A) I know it's a 10-spline, 1/16th shaft, 11". What I don't know is which clutch? I've searched around and found several 10-spline, 1/16th, 11" kits. The two that I've narrowed it down to are part numbers "DF700000" and "DF226033". They both appear to be the same, however one is about $40 bucks cheaper than the other on Summit's website and everywhere else I look. When I called Summit they said that the "DF226033" was for an 11.5" application even though it's an 11" clutch? It also appears that this one is for 80's models trucks with 460's? Can anybody clarify?

I can't answer any questions about centerline products, but I'll take a wild guess that the choice has more to do with the pressure plate to flywheel bolt pattern diameter.
I've heard of 2 sizes, rounded up with no fraction: 11" and 12". I learned this buying parts first, and a used flywheel after teardown and inspection. Went back and exchanged for the smaller, cheaper clutch because I already had the flywheel resurfaced.

Most of the 11 1/2" stuff was the 427 R code Galaxie stuff. Most not used on any other car/truck. The 12" stuff was 1 ton/bigger type truck. Not in stone...but from what I have seen.

I would pick the 11" Dual friction unit(that is what I run in my 69 F100/428). Works great, no slippage and the pedal pressure is not terrible either. I run the big input tranny, so it's the 1 3/8" input.

The '80's 460 clutch I believe was a diaphragm clutch from Ford. The bolt pattern is different than the Long(3 finger) style that you have now.

Thanks all. I'm gonna go with the more expensive version (DF700000) as it seems it would fit my application better. I guess I'll know for sure when it arrives! I'm going to try and get some pics of the clutch that I removed! P.P. side was so low it was scraping the metal rivots off that held on the pads, the Flywheel side is almost transparent! There were chunks of the clutch everywhere! It seems the person before me couldn't drive the truck so well, and definitely didn't know how to adjust it!

I've got the clutch in and was wondering about the return spring and break-in period. Did you remove the spring in the cab or install a stiffer return spring like centerforce suggests? Also, is a 500 mile "break-in" period required?

I run the stock return springs.

As for break in....I went thru that years back the first time I put one in. I had to keep going around the block and then re-adjust cause the pedal would be on the floor. It finally set in okay and did not have to adjust it constantly.

Thanks, just wanted to see if all the Centerforce warnings were B.S. or not. I've got the stock spring on there too, but the pedal stops about halfway up. I think I'll run a stronger spring, or just re-mount the stock one, so it pulls harder.
