Do yall know where the electric vacumme pump is on a 2004 f250 6.0l....my 4x4 does not want to engage without locking the hubs..have any of yall had this problem before, they said its a leak in the hose somewhere..
I'm having the same issue. Texastech_diesel sent me the following response. Check out the video located in the second weblink. It should help you diagnose the issue.
Vacuum leak somewhere. If it's all the time it could be an unplugged vac line on the heater valve or a dead pump, if it's intermittent or tied to using 4x4 it could be a leaking hub seal, broken hub line, or a bad pulse lock solenoid.
It could be a leak anywhere but most of the time it is the hub seals that leak. Mine leak and engage sometimes and not sometimes . I just lock them manually and don't worry about it , but i also know that they are locked this way.
i checked the hoses and there good...i think its the vacuum canister.. there is a little plug on the side and put my finger over the holes on the plug and it stops pumping, how do i know if my canister is bad?
