Got a vacuum leak in my right hub. What do I need to fix this problem?

Check out this LINK. There is a reference to: Vacuum leak? ESOF hubs won't engage?

Sure it is in the hub and not the hose leading to the hub? Do you have a Mity Vac to check if the hub will hold any vacuum at all? You can find one at Harbor Freight for around 15.00 I believe. The fitting on top of the hub might also be a possible source of leak. Just saying it is easy to check the easy stuff first, before jumping into those hubs.

Have you taken them out/apart yet?

Be a good place to start, anyway!

Yeah, I thought you probably already tried the easy things first. Was just hoping it would be easier. But really taking the hubs apart isn't that bad either. Just a little more time. And a little expense, since you would need to buy new seals. If you have never been in them, it might be time to check those needle bearings anyway. Maybe your vacuum leak has saved you having to do an axle replacement due to dry bearings ...........

I'm sure. Gave up on my wifes years ago, just put some Warn Preimum hubs in and lock up and go.

My only issue with manual hubs is I have been in PLEANTY of situations where I would be in danger of being hit if I had stopped, and having switch-on-the fly has gotten me out of a couple accidents, too. (Getting out of the way before getting hit)

If you live in an area where you drive in ice/snow a lot... Well... think about it before you go manual-only. Just my $.02

LOL... You do understand that you can drive with the hubs locked and not in 4x4...

Once winter hits I lock them up... Once winter goes, I unlock them.

If your waiting to the last second to put it in 4x4, your not being a safe driver.
