Max A/C operation??
I'm not sure if my A/C is operating properly. When it is raining out and I am all wet in the truck, I usually turn the A/C to max, which should recirculate the drier cabin air rather than taking in the less dry outside air.
This all works fine, but whenever my A/C is set to max, the temperature only blows cold no matter where I put the heat selector dial. Is this just me or is everyone's A/C the same way? If I turn the selector to any other position than Max it works just fine.
I'd like to dry out without freezing first. If this is proper operation, I think I'm going to have to find a manual way to operate that damper.

Well when ever I use A/C I always leave it full cold.
In the old days when using the A/C or defrost (which runs the A/C) you had to either have it fully in the cold or fully in the hot position.
Most times if I get in the truck have it down pours and I'm soaking wet, I usually get the truck running and turn it to full heat and maybe the second fan position while on either the vent or floor. Usually after a few minutes the inside of the truck is toasty and I'm drying off, also I turn my seat warmer on and it warms the underside.

On 99-04 Crew Cab trucks and Excursions, and on all 05+ trucks and Excursions, there is a valve that closes and prevents coolant flow through the heater core. So there won't be heat.
99-04 Regular Cab and Super Cab trucks don't have this valve.

Ain't that interesting? Thank for the replies.
