Got some done today, cleaned and painted the engine.
Here is what it will look like, I am waiting on the gasket set to get all together.

and the new bushings for the lower links, I like these alot better than the heims.

Very nice. I like the silver blue, it would be cool to do that to mine but i think green and black would better suit. Green block and black accents

Finally back to working on the project!

Started by cutting out the floor on the driver side and the lower post

Still have some more to do here.

Then started on sanding the hood.
Someone put alot of time into getting this hood to look nice, the whole thing has a nice skim of filler, I see no reason to go to metal here.

So I will be only taking care of the rust and leaving most of the hood how it is.

Any reason you decided to go from the heims to bushings? We know it wasn't from a road test so I wondered the thoughts leading up to that decision? You do great work and are inspiring me to get out in the garage and work on mine while the kid is in daycare tomorrow. Keep the pics coming, please!!!

The bushings will allow more flex off road and offer a better ride on the road.

Figured that was the reason, but I find so many guys that don't worry about the on the road ride quality that I had to ask.

Haha these trucks weren't quite made to have a nice ride quality though I do like your idea and it seems like it would be easier to replace those.

You just have the wrong springs young man.
Put a set of Deavers on that bad boy and you have a ride that rivals alot of new trucks.

Most spring rates are far too stiff to flex worth a damn or ride nice, including the stock springs.

Yeah I do wish to do some 4" deavers but I would have to wait cause I plan to buy a kit from rough country that has pretty much everything I need. The only thing I would need to change are the coils. I don't have a link on hand but when I get on my laptop I can post it.

Got another hoist this morning and got the body under the patio thing.
The two hoists sure make it nice, I can lift the body up high enough that I don't need to lay under it to work on it.

Going to work on the undercarriage tomorrow, today was kind of a clean up and organizing day.

Spent the morning on the transmission and transfer case. It got too damn hot so I called it a day.
Got the transmission assembly all sealed up, cleaned and painted.

Picking up some new engine mounts tomorrow, I will get the engine and trans on the frame Wednesday after work.
The \wife is going to the National Flute Convention so I will have some free time to spend with my first love!
