I got me a new ride. It's an 82 Mercedes 300SD. The big 4 door, with the 5cyl turbo diesel. Been driving it too much to adjust the fuel just yet, but it will certainly happen. Bought it on the 18th, and put $25 in the tank. It just now needs fuel again. What a cool score! The interior is pretty beat up, but it's hard to argue with $400 for the car, and I drove it home. Now, I have 2 rigs that are smog exempt. For sure be making the Oregon trips in this car now. Who needs a minivan when you have a tank?
When I bought it, he said about 24 in town, but only 26 on the highway. I saw why after driving it home. It needs better gears for the freeway. All in time. It can get to 32mpg, if I do it right.
Wow, two sweet looking trucks. Don't know too many peeps with twin trucks.
Jim
Well, like a lot of 42-year-olds, they look better from across the street than they do up close. When you get up close, you can see the rust and parking lot dings, etc.
Still, there's been many a time when I've woken up with the truck & been glad I had her. The truck with the stick & I go back a long ways... I first rode in her in 1973. I'm the third owner; my father-in-law was the second. The other truck (the automatic) just recently became road-worthy again (after sitting in my buddy's equipment yard for eight years).
Twins... something interesting about twins... so if you had two 42-year-old twins try to pick you up in a bar, what would you do?
He goes to dmv Weds for permit. I did pass a dune buggy (4 sale) up in Martinez on Monday that caught my eye so I`ll check on that manana as well. My wife will prolly kick my *** if I buy that but,, I`ll miss her,lol

"No, no, you don't understand! I got the dune buggy for my WIFE!"
"Well, that sounds like a good trade to me..."
(P.S. - Hope your kid does better at the DMV than I did the first few times I went there.)
When I was a wee sprite and going to the DMV for my very first license, it took 3 tries to get it. I failed the parallel parking test the 1st two times (I was driving my dad's 1970 Kingswood station wagon, a battleship sized car back in those days).
