I am not getting a diesel it seems, as the gentlemen who had one sold it.
The Pleasanton idea sounds good. However, I don't think I will be able to make it unless a miracle happens and I have a job by then. At today's gas prices, it would cost me roughly $104 for gas, plus the $25 to park, and get in. I don't want to setup a gtg that I can't go to, however, if you want to make a post and see what kind of response you get, feel free. No sense holding anyone back on my account.
As for the Bronco, it is running fine, and doesn't leak oil. Other than gas, and that JY battery, I have not done any maintenance on it.
Red460, I come over to Redding every year for the show. As long as the weather is nice I'll have the truck with me. We should try to get some others up as well.
I'll be up in Redding for Kool April nights too (on the Saturday). I will likely be driving the Escape (which is nowhere near stock and is fairly cool) or my old beast F250 which is truly cool. I'd be up for a little gtg.
Sounds good too me for Kool April Nights the weather has sure been weird so my prediction is atleast 100 degrees and muggy. I should have my brakes fixed by then. You'll get to see my white dented diesel in the flesh.

Jim
No biggie Jim I was just throwing it out there, it's going to be packed in Redding anyway (Hotels). So just thought anyone local could check some stuff out before the weather gets too us. The only formality is work (working on getting a job that usually requires weekends). But it is to early to tell. Will make it work somehow.
As far as what vehicle to choose for the thread, I would say whatever you would bring to a gtg either daily driver or specialty vehicle. Just curious of the diversity of Ford Iron.
Mine is a 67 F100 long bed. Powered by the mighty 300, which was bone stock when I bought it 5 years ago. Since then, I added an Offy intake, Edelbrock 4bbl carb, a 274*/.518" cam, GM 292 rockers, header(to dual 2" glasspax out), Duraspark ign fired by MSD box, replacement body panels(thanks to fellow FTE members), and highway gears(2.75).
Does anyone in the chapter actually own a Ford Raptor? Was flipping through their thread and got me curious. Would love to get my hands on one of those, I have a heavy foot.
I don't think anyone does, if they do they have been keeping it a secret. You are not the only one. I would love to own a Raptor. Even went on the Ford site and built my own. Of course, when it came time to pay for it, I almost choked. had to put it on my wish list for when I win the lotto (which I don't play) or one of the PCH sweepstakes (which I do play, since it is free to enter).
Optioned out it's like $55,000. Will just have to wait for surplus U.S Forest Service Raptors. I have seen a few Raptors in Redding, latest sighting was 3 nights ago driven by a man who looked like he had no clue what he was behind the wheel of.
