HELP! white smoke coming out of my '06 f350
I don't know what's wrong with my 2006 f350 ford diesel 6.0 truck! I took it to the dealership because at times there is heavy billowing white smoke coming out of the exhaust. If anyone knows what this could be please post to this thread or call me toll free at (831)566-8127 THANKS JIM

You are most likely in serious trouble with that 6.0.
Start with this entire video, (its only 4 minutes) and then watch all the rest.

Do yourself a favor and ignore the PowerStrokeHelp.com stuff. He is a salesman deluxe, there is misinformation in his videos, and you can do better on this forum.
You first need to determine if the white smoke smells like fuel or like coolant.
Then - check for codes (autozone can read codes for free).
Since you are losing some coolant, you can easily pull the EGR valve (after running the truck to temp and then parking on a "decline"). Check for coolant in the intake under the EGR valve.

Since your driving an '06 model...I'm willing to bet your oil cooler is clogged, which has lead to your EGR cooler failure. Park the truck nose down, pull the EGR valve and look to see if there is coolant in the intake....I'm willing to bet there will be. And if you can drive the truck long enough to check the delta, I'm also willing to beat your EOT/ECT delta is more than 20F.

If it's the egr cooler, it will be intermittent because it's only injecting coolant into the engine when the egr valve opens. Do what these guys above said and get it checked right away. You can hydraulic the motor, lift the heads and blow head gaskets and a few other fun things if you run it like that.
