Anyhow thats my puller that has pulled craploads of pitmans.
Gavin, it would have been more peaceful if she rode back there, but sadly she wasn't having it. Of course the latches are on the exterior, but locking her in there probably wouldn't have worked in my favor.
Chicken........(or is that being smart)..........Just no sense of adventure ....
Reminds me of the story of......Lock your wife and your doggie in the trunk of a car.........wait one hour. Open the trunk and you will find out who really Loves you.....................
The water was pretty cold, but I swam a lot anyway. A little undertow, but nothing to worry about. The weather was damn near perfect, though. Not too hot, an ocean breeze and not too many people, which is the reason we leave the beach to go to NC to enjoy the beach.
Trent. This is a real pitman arm puller. Run it up with impact wrench then just smack end of bolt head on puller and them fall of. if you busted this kind Wow. I feel for ya.
Yup I've seen that kind, the Snap-On guy has these and I was contemplating getting one but I didn't want to spend even more time trying to source out that part. Hopefully I'm not pulling pitman arms all the time but if I were, I would probably spend the $60 for that nice model.
Keep plugging away Trent...... That right there is why I don't do that kinda thing myself anymore. I got no patients LOL. Good luck buddy
Yeah I will, I really miss driving my truck already and it's only been like 3 days. The GM 6.0L Vortec is gutless in comparison.
New complication, the passenger side front bumpstop didn't come off clean - the fastener sheared off so now I'm drilling, punching and cleaning the threads with a tap.
I might sound like I'm complaining but I'm really not, I do genuinely enjoy working on my truck and these are just the things that make it interesting. To me it's a great accomplishment at the end instead of just being like oh I dropped it off, paid a bunch of money and picked it up at the end and now I have a taller truck... where's the fun in that?
I'm going to have to beg/borrow/buy an air hammer to do the frame rivets. I'm pretty sure I did buy one from Princess Auto for a crazy low price a while ago and it's probably still in the box but of course now that I need one I'm not sure where I filed it away.
Work continues tonight... we'll see how far I get. Gotta get it all done by the end of the week though.
Trent, once you start driving it again it will be a great feeling of accomplishment, it will be awesome...... don't forget the ear protection with that air chisel
