The trax system relies on a sending unit in the aux tank and also ties into the circuit for the factory sending unit. Have to locate the signal wires in the frame rail and splice into them. It was easy, detailed instructions for transfer flow were very good, took me 2 hours to install, including wiring up the power and running signal lines to the dash. I used an upfitter rather than using a fuse tap, much easier.
Retro fitting this system to a different tank would be tough, has to have a sending unit, proper resistance ratings, and it's own fuel pump for the transfer.

RDS uses gravity flow and a check valve. I like the idea of having a fuel pump in the aux. tank that I can turn on and off. The other option is to add a NC valve to the gravity feed transfer line to control the flow.
I really would really like to have a gauge on the aux. tank too.
My engine died. All the coolant from the primary system is in the crankcase. The primary cooling system is completely drained. Oil level is half way up the dipstick cable. Secondary cooling system is intact, so it's not EGR related.
The starter won't turn the motor, it's pretty well seized.
121,828 or something like that. I have the extended warranty. I pray that the Ocala dealer is decent!
My fifth wheel cargo trailer is in the hotel parking lot and I can't get it myself for at least 8 days. I don't want to ask the hotel management to deal with it for over a week. I hope I can have it towed or that someone around here would be able just to take it home until I can round up a truck and get to it.
I have to work in clermont, jax, Hialeah and I have no down time in between those jobs. My father is on his way to me with his 150 and a small trailer I can load some gear in and survive the rest of the week. Luckily the big steel is no longer needed, used it yesterday up in Mississippi.
And wow, I've never lost a motor! Big loud rough mechanical clanking sounds.....outta nowhere.
